Why is the serum-creams' shelf life only 18 months?

Since we strive for our formula to be as unadulterated and ‘natural’ as possible, our serum-creams don’t contain harsh preservatives. This is why we offer 18 months of optimal quality and no 'badies' for the skin.

Make sure to store the product in a cool and dark place.

Can I store the serum-creams in the fridge?

We suggest and (during summertime) encourage to refrigerate our gel formulas. The two-layer formulas should not be placed in the fridge due to the high oil content. The oil layer of the serum-creams will solidify and become unusable.

Should I use face cream after having applied the serum-cream?

No, this product is the best of both worlds - serums and creams. It has all the benefits of a serum and the moisturising and protective properties of a cream. The formula is rich and nourishing, yet doesn't leave a sticky or greasy residue.

Can I apply makeup after the serum-cream?

Yes, you can. The key is to go slow when applying the serum - at first only 3-4 drops (for two-layer formula) and 5-6 drops (for gel formula) and then let it absorb completely. Add more only if needed.

If too much serum-cream is applied at first, it will create a film on the face and start ‘rolling off’, and the foundation will follow.

Why are Effloressence serum-creams not advised during pregnancy or periods of breast-feeding?

Our serum-cream formulas contain essential oils, which in general are not advised during pregnancy and breast-feeding mothers.

Are there any body parts where the application of serum should be avoided?

Topically the serum can be used all over the body, except the area around the eyes. This is because Effloressence serum-creams contain essential oils, which in some cases can be too concentrated for the gentle under-eye and eyelid skin. Also, make sure to not apply the product on compromised or broken skin.
